Final sculpture Questions
My favorite media to work with was clay. I always had an interest in clay but I learned so much more about it and how to use it in this class. I think clay is a really fun media to use because it's different then just painting on a flat surface because instead you can create pieces that can be useful for everyday things around the house or as a cool accent piece. I learned more about the tools used for sculpting which I would not have know before this class and that really helped me understand the media better.

I think the hardest part about this class was learning how to make 3d art that wasn't just painting or drawing. I had to learn how to use and fill space in an artistic way. Before this class I only knew how to make art that you could hang on the wall or put on the shelf, but sculpture gives you so many options of what you can make. I think another part about that class that was hard was always trying to figure out what to do. There are endless options of what you could sculpt and if there were not specific guidelines it was hard to come up with ideas.

If I had a chance to redo one of my projects I would definitely would redo this one. I had trouble getting the shape of my dogs head correct and it just didn't ever turn out to look like what I was going for. I think I could better and try different techniques to see how I could improve. If I did redo this project I think I would really focus on where I am placing the clay. Some features on my dogs face stood out more due to adding on too much extra clay. I would also just want to spend more time on this so I could take my time on getting it just right.

I think my most successful piece I made was the greenware mug. I was able to put it together and smooth it out and make it look neat. I carved free handed a flower design on the front of the mug that I think turned out really good and gave a good guide to wear i was putting my second color of glaze. I used complementary colors which worked well for this floral color scheme.
